How to Avoid Mortgage Foreclosure - Find Out How the System Really Works

Lately I have been asked many times this question; how to avoid mortgage foreclosure when you are at an economic disadvantage, but would like to keep your home? There is a way to delay foreclosure, without making payments, and anyone can do this. It does not matter if you would like to keep your home for good or just delay the process for a couple of years, avoiding foreclosure, is the key, especially right now.

There are some people who are not interested in keeping their homes for good, but they would love to know how to avoid mortgage foreclosure for some time. I have personal experience with this situation. I purchased my home for $279,000. After paying the mortgage for about two years, I lost my job and could no longer afford the payments.

Even though the current value of my home is $179,000.00, down $100,000 from the original price of $279,000.00, I still owe $270,000.00. I find myself having the ability to pay my mortgage now, but I am not going to do it because of the devaluation. It is just not worth it.

I have lived in my home for the past twenty months, without making any mortgage payments. Unfortunately most people do not know how avoid mortgage foreclosure and they end up loosing their house in a short amount of time. Though, people lose their homes to foreclosure in just a few months everyday, this is not necessary.

Most of my subscribers have never spoken with their lenders. I need to make one thing perfectly clear, how to avoid mortgage foreclosure without ever talking to you lender? There is absolutely no way to. The lender may avoid talking to you, but you can find a way to communicate in some form.

While the communication process is necessary in saving your home, you must do so with caution. It is very important that you know how to speak to the right people, in the right way, or foreclosure will be imminent.

Counseling agencies are another avenue of concern. Most of the time dealing directly with a lender will give you more success as the foreclosure assistance agencies that are trying to get your business are after profit first, and helping you, is secondary. Remember, they are in business to make money too.

What can happen with a foreclosure assistance agency is that you are not capable to afford even lower payments, from the payments that you originally had, they will communicate this to the bank, and this will expedite the foreclosure process. Please be careful!

I can make this statement boldly because I am not being paid by any companies to mislead you into believing something that is not true. Seventy percent of homeowners are facing foreclosure as a result of now being able to afford already lowered monthly mortgage payments in the first place.

Generally when a person is facing foreclosure they will go to the bank and tell them the truth; that they lost their job, their wife was laid off and that they basically cannot afford to make their mortgage payments. The result is; the bank immediately begins the foreclosure process.

The banks do not have any type of emotional investment in you; it is all about the money. If they think you are broke, you are automatically labeled and the foreclosure process is expedited.

Many homeowners do not know that they have options when they do not have the money to make their mortgage payments. Once they have been rejected by the banks, they give up and are at a loss almost immediately.

The fact is you can stay in your home for up to two years without making a single payment! You will not have to make payments to lawyers for their services either. Knowing how to avoid mortgage foreclosure on your own and how to do it is the most important question.

The key thing to remember is that if you are not making enough money to make your mortgage payments, you must face this fact. So even if you have income problems, or maybe not income whatsoever, there are many things you can do to keep your home from foreclosure, but you should know how to proceed in every situation, what to do and how to do it.
